EB/Architects provided architectural and engineering services during the Museography Design implementation phase, helping to achieve the tight construction schedule leading up to the Gallery's symbolic opening.
The 25th of March 2021 was the day marking the bicentenary of the Greek War of Independence. As part of the celebrations, a symbolic ceremony was held at the newly renovated National Gallery of Greece on the evening of March 24, where the Prime Minister, the President of Greece and the Ministry of Culture received foreign leaders in the official inauguration of the National Gallery’s permanent art collection and the special exhibition dedicated to the 1821 Greek revolution.

The museum reopened after an extensive renovation that more than doubled its display capacity, carried out by TOMI SA, a member of Ellaktor Group. EB/Architects are very proud of our involvement, providing engineering services and innovative and highly effective BIM implementation applications during the Museography Design implementation phase, including 3D Laser Scanning, complete BI Model and Construction Documentation and Shop Drawings.

The National Gallery was originally designed in 1966 by the Greek architects Pavlos Mylonas and Dimitris Fatouros and completed in 1975, and was declared a listed monument, as an iconic Modernist work. In 2001, a preliminary study was prepared by the original designers for the renovation and expansion of the Gallery, and in 2008 the detailed design stage was undertaken by the offices "Architecture Ltd. Grammatopoulos - Panousakis" and "D. Vassilopoulos & Associates EU". The Museography Design was carried out by the design office of professors George Parmenidis, Christine Longuepée and Iphigenia Mari.
